The information we collect.

Information is collected from you when you register, submit an abstract, or when you contact us via email. The information we collect is clearly set out on the web page on which we collect it.

When do we collect your personal data?

  • When you fill in forms on our site www.BANN.org.uk (our website) for example when you register as a member or when you correspond with us via e-mail. The information you give us may include your name, address, e-mail address and phone number.
  • When you contact us by any means with queries etc.

We’ll use this information for the following purposes:

  • Send you information about our services that we offer e.g., conferences, events.
  • Respond to your requests, including information or any queries.
  • To notify you about changes to our services.
  • To notify you of any suggestions and recommendations to you about our services.
  • To administer our site and for internal operations, including, data analysis, statistical and survey purposes.
  • To allow you to participate in interactive features of our service when available and when you choose to do so.

What sort of personal data do we collect?

  • We will collect the following information: your name, place of work, email and telephone number.
  • If you create a membership account with us, we will store your name, place of work, email, and phone number.   
  • Information gathered using cookies in your web browser.

Where we store your data

  • Where you have chosen a password which enables you to access our members area, you are responsible for keeping this password confidential. We ask you not to share this password with anyone else.
  • The transmission of information via the internet is not completely secure, however we will do our best to protect your personal data.
  • Once we have received your information, we will use strict procedures and security features to try to prevent unauthorised access.
  • We generally store information about you for as long as we need the information for the purposes for which we collect and use it, and we are not legally required to continue to keep your information.

Who on our team has access?

  • Administrators and members of our executive board have access to the information you provide us to support you.
  • We do not share your information with outside individuals, organisation or companies.

Payments

  • We accept payments through Stripe. When processing payments, some of your data will be passed to Stripe, including information required to process or support the payment, such as the purchase total and billing information.

Cookies

  • Cookies are tiny text files stored on your computer when you visit certain web pages.
  • These will be use as minimum for the operation of our website. This helps us to provide you with a good experience when you browse our website and allows us to improve our site.
  • If you visit our login page, we will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser. Our cookies don’t store sensitive information such as your name, address or payment details.
  • We use Google Analytics to monitor web usage, however this does not store information such as your name, address, or payment details. You can find out more information about opting out of Google.

Our site may contain links to and from the websites of our partner associations for example the European Association of Neuroscience Nurses (EANN) and the World Federation of Neuroscience Nurses (WFNN). When you follow the link to any of these websites, please note that these websites may have their own privacy policies and that we do not accept any responsibility or liability for these policies.

If we make any changes to our privacy policy in the future this will be posted on this page and, where appropriate, notified to you by e-mail.
