About NNBG
The National Neuroscience Benchmarking Group (NNBG) is a dedicated national group of professionals, both clinical and academic. The group aims is to produce, implement and monitor Neuroscience Best Practice Guidelines that supports Neurosciences nurses in the development and delivery of practice in order to improve patient services, and the advancement of knowledge and skills in Neurosciences.
In addition, benchmarking was seen by the group as a means of comparing practice and to improve on the quality of care.
The group was established in the 1990`s as a result of growing concerns over inconsistencies in practices, acknowledging that the clinical practice benchmarking process had the potential to address these concerns and produce sustainable improvements. Our activities
Activities of the NNBG aimed at meeting the above goals:
- The group meets quarterly for the purpose of reviewing and developing benchmarks.
- Neuroscience units involved in the group will audit their practice against the agreed benchmarks
- Benchmarks once agreed are published on the website
- Promote Best Practice Guidelines at neuroscience dedicated conferences and publish good Neuroscience practice development initiatives.
The group membership is open to healthcare workers within the speciality of Neuroscience Nursing. Membership is free but involves you registering yearly with the group.
